ANNUAL IMPACT NEWSLETTER & STRATEGIC OUTLOOK

2025 Impact Report | 2026 New Ventures Preview

Vision: Developing a Healthy and Working Community

Mission: To reach nurture, empower and release.

Dear Valued Partners,

On behalf of Rain edge International Centre (RIC), we extend our sincere appreciation for your continued partnership and confidence in our mission. The year 2025 marked a period of consolidation, measurable impact, and institutional strengthening across our programs most notably through Sure 24 Homes, one of our flagship child protection and care initiatives.

As we look ahead to 2026, we are pleased to share not only what has been achieved, but also the new ventures and scalable interventions we are strategically positioning to deliver sustainable, long-term community impact.

Rainedge International Centre continues to grow as a holistic institution responding to care, education, health, skills development, and sustainability needs. Our programs operate as distinct departments yet work together to create lasting impact for children, youth, and the wider community.

We celebrate the progress achieved in 2025, acknowledge the challenges faced, and reflect on opportunities that lie ahead.

SURE 24 CHILDREN'S HOMES

Sure 24 Children's Homes

Care, Health, and Restoration

Sure 24 Children's Homes remains a haven for vulnerable children, providing residential care, psychosocial support, education, and life skills. Currently housing 52 on a full care basis.

Child Impact Story

Joseph Amkwiru's Journey

Joseph joined Sure 24 Homes at the age of 8 after losing his parents, joining street family and missing nearly a full year of schooling. Through structured care at sure 24 homes, school reintegration, counseling, and mentorship, Joseph gradually rebuilt his confidence and academic focus.

In 2025:

  • Graduated with a Diploma in Mechatronic Engineering
  • Emerged as a peer mentor to younger learners
  • Secured employment as a teacher at Living Fountain Academy

Joseph's journey illustrates the long-term return on donor investment when care systems are stable, intentional, and outcomes-focused.

Health Intervention and Child Well-Being

In 2025, one child under our care required urgent medical attention for a serious condition. Through timely intervention and coordinated medical support, the child successfully underwent surgery.

The recovery has been encouraging, with the child returning to school and daily activities in improved health. This experience highlights the importance of responsive healthcare within child protection programs and underscores the evolving needs of children in our care.

BASIC EDUCATION PROGRAM

Basic Education Program

Education remains our strongest predictor of long-term life outcomes. In 2026, RIC will scale targeted academic interventions by:

  • Strengthening structured junior and senior secondary education pathways
  • Expanding academic support, mentorship, and exam-readiness programs
  • Increasing learner retention and transition rates through individualized learning plans

2025 Evidence Base:

  • Over 100% school retention among children under RIC care
  • Improved mean scores in LFA schools through mentorship and remedial support
  • Increased transition rates to secondary education for vulnerable learners

RAINEDGE HIGH SCHOOL

From a data perspective, the school attained an overall mean score of 5.42, improving from 4.87 in the previous cohort. Importantly, 38% of candidates achieved grades of C+ and above, up from 24% last year, thus qualifying for university admission. We also recorded a significant reduction in grades below D+, alongside measurable gains in key subjects such as English, Mathematics, and Biology. These improvements were most pronounced among students who entered the school from disadvantaged or low-performance backgrounds.

Beyond examination statistics, the results reflect strengthened learner confidence, improved discipline, and better exam readiness outcomes that align closely with the mentoring, academic support structures, and skills-based workshops you have supported. Taken together, the data suggests that the holistic model we are implementing is delivering tangible and scalable impact.

Transition to Senior School under CBC

The year 2025 marked a historic milestone as our school became a pioneer in transitioning learners from Junior School into Senior School (Grade 10) under Kenya's new Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC). This shift replaced the previous 8-4-4 system and emphasises practical skills, critical thinking, and applied knowledge.

Growth and Emerging Challenges

Being pioneers of Senior School comes with both achievement and responsibility. Key areas of focus include:

  1. Acquisition of CBC-aligned textbooks and learning materials
  2. Establishment and equipping of science laboratories ie, computer labs
  3. Procurement of specialised equipment for practical subjects
  4. Continuous teacher training and curriculum alignment
  5. Classroom adjustments to meet Senior School requirements

Despite these challenges, we remain committed to providing quality education that prepares learners for future opportunities.

RAINEDGE INTERNATIONAL TRAINING COLLEGE

Rainedge International Training College

Rainedge International Training College provides practical, hands-on training to equip learners with ICT, CHILD PROTECTION, SOCIAL WORK, FASHION AND DESIGN skills, fostering independence and economic empowerment. Our programs intentionally support learners with diverse abilities, including students who are differently abled.

Strengthening Inclusion

In 2025, we constructed accessible ablution blocks to ensure safety, dignity, and inclusion for all trainees. The growing demand for adaptive tools, specialised equipment, and well-resourced workshops remains a priority for fully meeting the learning needs of every student.

HAKIKA INDUSTRIAL PARK

Enterprise and Institutional Sustainability: Hakika Industrial Park strengthens RIC's sustainability while offering real-world skills and production experience. The park comprises:

🌾 A Posho Mill
💧 A Water Processing Plant
🍞 A Bakery

These enterprises contribute to food security, skills application, and operational resilience. As production expands, continued investment in equipment, maintenance, and quality systems ensures the park can meet growing demand and generate meaningful impact.

WALKING FORWARD TOGETHER

Our journey is one of steady growth, learning, and shared responsibility. Each success highlights what is possible, while every challenge offers an opportunity to strengthen systems and improve outcomes.

We remain deeply grateful for partners and friends who walk with us celebrating achievements, understanding challenges, and believing in the potential of every child and youth. Together, we continue to transform care into opportunity and challenges into growth.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support
